Xuejing(Olivia) Xu is a Chinese designer who ventured into the animation world after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Technology, which paved the way for her career as a 3D artist. In 2011, she moved to the United States to pursue an MFA in 3D Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Film and Animation, training as a 3D Generalist with a strong passion for VFX development. Her film "Full Measures" has been officially selected for numerous film festivals, and she has contributed to various projects ranging from live-action VFX to 3D animations.
Currently, Xuejing is a freelance 3D designer collaborating with Microsoft, international design studios, independent artists, and filmmakers. She was honored to be a panelist at Microsoft Design Week 2024, an event that gathers designers to share insights and advancements in design. During the "Worldbuilding in 3D" discussion, she detailed Microsoft's approach to crafting realistic and emotionally resonant design elements using a language focused on realism and brand consistency.
